Maria S sent this darling card which she made using LG643 Aloha Shirt, and decorated with cute buttons, both on the shirts and on the background.  It appears she used decorated papers, adding touches of stenciling for the collars, etc. It was made for a local swap where the theme was "buttons". What a novel idea - thank you for sharing, Maria.

Lois J is responsible for the next three cards.  Sorry this one may be a bit late for the season, but that is not Lois' fault. She sent it plenty early, I just have not gotten it online. Sorry for the delay, but perhaps you can use the idea for next year, if too late for this. The scarecrow was done by pasting with Regular Embossing Paste (DEP), then stenciling with Pigment Inks. Then she cut him out and mounted on the plaid paper to give a 3-D look, then mounted on the orange embellished cardstock. Cute little guy, isn't he?

These pumpkins were also paste-embossed with DEP, then stenciled with pastel chalks. Lois' comment regarding the use of the paste - "I love the way the paste accepts the chalk colors. You can be very subtle or very bold and everywhere in-between." Her comments seem to be validated here in her lovely shading technique. The paper directly behind the pumpkins is vegetable paper - very appropriate, don't you think?

Lois used the shadow technique on this card, and began by stenciling the blue ink where she planned to have the "shadow" for each leaf. Then the leaves were done with DEP and stenciled with chalk. "Thank You!" is stamped onto mulberry paper, then torn around the edges and carefully mounted over the paste. Complementing mounts set off the message and complete the card.

Lois is an instructor at Stampers Rendezvous in New Buffalo, MI, so if you live close you may want to get in on some of her classes. She appears a true professional by the quality of her work.

Peggy G of CA shared the next two cards with us. This is truly a striking card and uses the popular LJ873 Butterflies. Peggy used silver paste on handmade paper for this special creation. Will admit it looks more gold (which would work fine too,) but that is often what a scan will do - change the looks somewhat.

Peggy used DEP (Regular Embossing Paste) with Wave Stencil LJ838 on heavy WC paper to make this card. Then she stenciled with inks for the colors and mounted on what I would think is a ready-made border card. Truly eye-catching!
