Barb G appears to be one busy lady, enjoying her cardmaking and gracious enough to share with us. All cards on this page were created by Barb. She does truly lovely work and I am not sure I can describe and do justice to all of them, but I will try.

LL454 Bird of Paradise   LL516 Bearded Iris

These three cards were all done using the Faux Cross Stitch Technique. The stencil is placed on the card where you want the design to be, taped down with removable tape and turned over so the stencil is face down on the light table. Dry emboss the design, turn back over, leave stencil in place and stencil pale or pastel colors on design. Next place the screen over brass stencil and hinge with one piece of removable tape. Load stencil brush with pigment ink and off load any excess on paper towel. Build color slowly, working from light to dark. Once satisfied with color, remove screen.

Using black cardstock, Barb pasted LJ872 Crane Background with either Gold (DGP) or Copper (DCP) Embossing paste (am not sure which she used, but either will be fine.) LL489 Crane Crest was also paste embossed on a separate piece of black cardstock, then cut around, circle shaped. Both designs were then gold-leafed. The crest is remounted on a piece of burgandy cardstock, then mounted on the crane background, perhaps with "puff" tape for an added dimension.

Barb used a combination of stencils on this creation and came up with a truly lovely card. LJ861 Water Lilies is first dry-embossed on blue cardstock, then stenciled for color depth. The Dragonfly is from LM193 and the Water Lily from LM136. Both are paste embossed with a Metallic Embossing Paste, gold leafed, cut out and mounted in their respective corner.

LG672 Heart Lock   LJ816 Spider Web LS28 Spider

The card on the upper left is paste embossed using Silver Embossing Paste (DSP), glitter applied while still wet and mounted on complementary color cards. Barb's mounts are apparently well thought out and add a lot to her cards.

LJ816 Spider Web is embossed with Gold Paste, LS28 Spider appears to be paste embossed with colored glitter added while wet, then cut out and mounted on web.

Barb did some layering on this design, using LG634 Kimono and LJ872 Crane Background embossed with the Black Paste (DMBP).

These three cards are all paste embossed, using a different technique for each. Upper left has LG616 Leaves pasted with DEP (regular paste) over LG615 vase, cut out and mounted. Leaves are stenciled before cutting out vase.

LL482 Pineapple and LM211 Welcome are both pasted with DEP. While still wet Barb "textured" the pineapple by perhaps placing a piece of wax paper on it and lifting quickly, or by working with a palette knife. Either technique will work - just be sure stencil is still in place. Great color shading here, probably with inks.

I give up on the surfboards - all I can say is they are striking! They appear to have a texture, or glitter - I can't really tell which, but I do believe they were pasted before stenciling.

LL514 Pumpkin Border was pasted with Dep, then stenciled. "happy thanksgiving" was stenciled, both on the white cardstock, then mounted.
